Database By DesignBuilding Better Business |
Database By Design charges $40 dollars an hour, but normally charges by the
project. Database By Design gathers information about the database from your
company and determines how long it will take. The price is determined and put
in a software agreement. The software agreement lists the specifications and
the time to complete each task.
Since each database is custom made, the amount of hours will vary. The
average medium sized database takes between 100 to 120 hours. Many
less complicated, smaller databases average 40 hours.
In order to ensure your company gets the database to work exactly the way you
need it to work--right down to the finest details, here is the Database By
Design plan:
1) Software agreement--Initial payment of 1/3 due.
Here, we are working towards the Beta Version of your company's database. You
receive updates and sample database fragments to review quite often. The
developer will need a representative from your company to review updates emailed
to you. When updates are reviewed, changes to the specifications occur as the
buyer becomes more familiar with the capabilities of a relational database, and
as the developer becomes more familiar with the company. Therefore, changes are
not only okay, they are encouraged.
2) Beta Delivery--2nd payment of 1/3 due.
Here, we are working toward the Final product. The Beta version should be in
working order--enough to actually use-- because we would have corresponded
enough between the initial time and the time of the Beta submission.
3) Final product--Final payment due 1 month after Beta.
A one month period of actually using the database will allow you to request
additional functionality and find any issues that need to be resolved. As long
as the changes aren't major new additions to the database, there is no extra
charge for these changes.
